Ayoub Chaikhoun switches from Nuremberg to Wehen Wiesbaden on loan
Morocco-Germany attacking midfielder Ayoub Chaikhoun has joined Wehen Wiesbaden from 1. FC Nuremberg on loan, strengthening the 3. Liga club with a move that runs until 30 June 2027.
Chaikhoun, 20, plays primarily in the attacking midfield position and is right-footed. Born in Frankfurt am Main, the midfielder has represented both Morocco and Germany by nationality and stands 1.83m tall.
The transfer takes him away from Nuremberg after just over a year with the club. Chaikhoun joined Nuremberg from Frankfurt Under-19s on 1 July 2025 in a free transfer, having developed through the youth system at Frankfurt.
He made one appearance in the Regionalliga Bayern during the 2026-27 campaign before moving to Wiesbaden, playing 12 minutes. He had not appeared in the 2. Bundesliga this season at the time of the switch.
Chaikhoun was part of the Nuremberg II side that won the German Regionalliga Bavaria title in the 2025-26 season. His move to Wehen gives him a change of club after that regional championship campaign and places him in a squad competing in Germany’s third tier.
The midfielder began his youth career with BSC Schwarz-Weiss before moving to Blau-Gelb, then joining Rot-Weiss Frankfurt’s youth setup in 2018. He later progressed into Frankfurt’s Under-17 and Under-19 teams, completing his move to Nuremberg after leaving the latter side.
Wehen Wiesbaden become the latest senior club in Chaikhoun’s career and his first move away from Nuremberg. The switch was completed on 13 August 2026, with the player’s market value recorded at €500,000 at the time of the transfer.
Chaikhoun has now completed his loan move from 1. FC Nuremberg to Wehen Wiesbaden, with the agreement scheduled to end on 30 June 2027.
