Aymen Sabri: Franco-Moroccan defender joins Bourg-en-Bresse on free transfer

Franco-Moroccan centre-back Aymen Sabri has joined Bourg-en-Bresse on a free transfer from US Orleans B.

The 20-year-old moves across the French football pyramid to link up with the Ligue 3 side after his spell with Orleans’ reserve team in National 2 Group H. The deal sees Sabri make the step from the fourth tier into the new national third division structure as Bourg-en-Bresse reshape their squad for the campaign ahead.

Capable of operating in the heart of defence, Sabri adds depth to a Bourg-en-Bresse back line that will face a different level of competition this season. His switch formalises a change of club within France, maintaining his development in the domestic system while giving him the platform of a fully professional environment.

Born in 2005, Sabri holds both French and Moroccan nationality and continues the trend of dual-national players progressing through French clubs into senior football. His time with US Orleans B offered experience in one of France’s key development leagues, where reserve sides compete against semi-professional opposition.

The move to Bourg-en-Bresse marks Sabri’s first transfer away from Orleans’ structure and confirms his status as part of the Ligue 3 club’s plans for the new season.
