Axel Disasi has hinted he would be happy to remain at West Ham beyond the end of his loan spell from Chelsea, after quickly feeling at home in East London.
The French centre-back spoke candidly on the club’s Iron Cast show about how smoothly he has settled since crossing the capital.
“I can feel that that is like a family, and I love feeling that,” Disasi said, describing the atmosphere around the squad and staff. His words will delight West Ham fans who have embraced him since his arrival, especially given how his situation deteriorated at Chelsea earlier in the season.
Chelsea effectively froze Disasi out, placing him in the so-called “bomb squad” group of unwanted players during the first half of the campaign.
The club are not expected to stand in his way if he pushes for a permanent exit in the summer. What remains unclear is whether West Ham will move to keep him long term, with any decision likely to depend on his performances over the remainder of the season and the club’s transfer priorities.
For now, Disasi is focused on contributing on the pitch, but his affection for West Ham and its “family” feel suggests he would welcome the chance to make the London Stadium his permanent home.
