Europa League: Guilavogui Wary of Lille Ahead of Crucial Clash
Ahead of Wolfsburg’s Europa League clash with Lille, Josuha Guilavogui has issued a note of caution about the French side’s resilience and defensive strength. The former Saint-Étienne midfielder, currently the only Wolfsburg player with Ligue 1 experience, emphasized that LOSC should not be underestimated.
“It’s a very good team,” said Guilavogui. “It’s a team in the image of its coach, who never gives up and who is very solid defensively.”
After a humbling 4-1 defeat to Everton in their opening group match, Wolfsburg are looking to bounce back quickly. Guilavogui believes that playing at home is a key advantage and is urging his teammates to rise to the occasion.
“We must show a reaction after the defeat at Everton. We are lucky to be playing at home, so it’s an opportunity to get back on track. We will need to be determined to win the duels and take the three points,” he added.
Wolfsburg will be aiming to put in a dominant performance to secure their first win in the group and revive their European campaign.
