Aurele Amenda close to Coventry City move

Aurele Amenda is on the verge of completing his move to Coventry City, with the deal now in its final stages.

The Frankfurt defender is currently in England for the medical checks that usually come right before a transfer is signed and officially announced.

The move to the Premier League newcomers has been expected for some time, but progress had gone quiet for nearly two weeks. According to journalist Christopher Michel, Amenda is now back in the spotlight as the last formal steps are taken.

Frankfurt are set to receive a fee of around 20 million euros, including a fixed amount of 18 million euros. That makes the transfer one of the more profitable outgoing deals for the Bundesliga club this summer.

Amenda’s move also marks an important next step in a career that has moved steadily upward since his early years at BSC Young Boys. He signed his first professional contract there in December 2021, made his debut in February 2022, and soon added European experience in the Conference League qualifiers. Coventry now look ready to give him a new platform in England.
