Aubameyang Dismisses Transfer Rumors: “I Never Wanted to Leave Dortmund”
Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has put an end to the transfer speculation that surrounded him during the recent summer window. Despite reported interest from AS Roma, the Gabon international reaffirmed his commitment to the Bundesliga club.
Following Dortmund’s 2-0 victory over Arsenal in the Champions League — a match in which he scored a crucial goal — Aubameyang addressed the rumors in an interview with beIN Sports.
“I have a contract that runs until 2018. I never wanted to leave and I don’t want to leave,” the former Saint-Étienne forward stated. “I had been informed of the approaches from Italy, but that didn’t interest me.”
His comments reflect his satisfaction at the club under manager Jürgen Klopp, where he continues to play a key role. With his pace, finishing, and ability to stretch defenses, Aubameyang has become a fan favorite and a vital asset in Dortmund’s attacking line.
