Atromitos consider move for Middlesbrough goalkeeper Seny Dieng

Seny Dieng, the Senegalese-Swiss goalkeeper at Middlesbrough, has been linked with a move to Greek Super League 1 club Atromitos.

The 31-year-old remains contracted to Middlesbrough until 30 June 2027, but has yet to make an appearance for the Championship club this season. Dieng has also not featured in the EFL Cup during the current campaign.

Dieng joined Middlesbrough from Queens Park Rangers in July 2023 in a transfer worth €2.3m. He spent part of last season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday before returning to the Riverside Stadium in March.

The goalkeeper’s potential move to Atromitos would come with his market value listed at €1m. No transfer fee or agreement has been established, and the link remains at the rumour stage.

Dieng began his senior career in Switzerland before moving to England, where he developed through a series of loan spells after joining QPR. He has also represented Senegal internationally and was part of the squad that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2022.

Middlesbrough signed Dieng as an experienced option in goal, but his current lack of appearances has coincided with speculation over a possible move away. For now, he remains a Middlesbrough player with two years left on his contract.
