Atletico Madrid plot €65m bid for Dutch-Ghanaian winger Jeremy Doku

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are reportedly preparing a significant move for Belgian winger Jeremy Doku as the club look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of next season.

The Madrid-based outfit is ready to table a lucrative offer to Manchester City in an attempt to lure the 23-year-old away from the Premier League champions. Atletico Madrid view the dynamic winger as a player capable of becoming a central figure in their attacking project.

According to sources, Doku could be tempted by a move to the Spanish capital if his playing time in Manchester becomes more limited. Competition for places in City’s star-studded squad remains intense, and Atletico Madrid are hoping any reduction in his role within the starting XI could open the door for negotiations.

At the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, Doku is reportedly seen as a potential attacking leader who could inject pace, creativity, and directness into Atletico’s frontline. The club’s technical staff believe his explosive dribbling ability and ability to create chances from wide areas would perfectly complement their tactical setup.

Reports further claim that preliminary talks between Atletico Madrid and Manchester City have already begun, although no formal agreement has yet been reached. City are understood to value the winger highly and are unlikely to let him leave without a substantial offer.

Since joining the English champions, Doku has continued to develop into one of Europe’s most exciting young attackers. During the current campaign, he has made 33 appearances in all competitions for the Citizens, scoring three goals while providing an impressive 12 assists.

Despite those contributions, Atletico’s interest is partly fueled by the belief that the Belgian international could play an even more prominent role in their squad than he currently does in Manchester.

Doku remains under contract with Manchester City until the summer of 2028, giving the Premier League side a strong negotiating position. However, the Spanish outfit would have to meet €65 million valuation to secure the signature of the attacker.

With the summer transfer window approaching, the situation is expected to develop further as Atletico Madrid attempt to secure one of the Premier League’s most exciting wide players.
