Nicolas Jackson pops up on the radar of Atletico Madrid

Senegal star Nicolas Jackson could be set to continue his career in the Spanish top flight, with Atletico Madrid reportedly in talks with Chelsea over a potential move for the Senegalese striker.

According to reports, negotiations are currently ongoing in London between Atletico Madrid and Chelsea regarding the 25-year-old forward.

The Spanish giants are looking to secure Jackson on loan until June 2027, with an option to buy expected to be included as part of the proposed agreement.

Talks between the two clubs are said to be progressing smoothly, with Atletico keen to reach an agreement for the striker ahead of the new season.

Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone is reportedly eager to strengthen his attacking options and sees Jackson as a player capable of adding pace, versatility and a different dimension to his frontline.

The Senegal international is known for his ability to operate in different attacking positions, while his speed and movement could make him an attractive option for Simeone’s tactical system.

Jackson has been a Chelsea player since 2023, but spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan at German giants Bayern Munich as he continued his development at the highest level.

During his spell in Munich, the 25-year-old featured in 34 matches across all competitions, scoring 11 goals.

His performances have kept him on the radar of several European clubs, with Atletico now reportedly leading the race to secure his services for the upcoming campaign.

Jackson remains under contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2033, meaning any permanent transfer would likely require significant negotiations between the two clubs.

The proposed loan agreement would give Atletico the opportunity to assess the striker over the course of the 2026/27 season before potentially making his move permanent.

With negotiations already underway, Jackson could soon find himself back in La Liga, where Atletico Madrid will hope his pace, physical presence and attacking versatility can strengthen their push for success in the new season.
