The inaugural Gabon Marathon is set to transpire from November 30 to December 1, 203, and to add to the grandeur of this occasion, the Gabonese capital is anticipating the presence of a distinguished guest—none other than Usain Bolt.
Recently retiring from international competition in 2017 after securing eight world championship titles, the six-time Olympic champion is poised to take center stage as the star guest for the premier edition of the Gabon Marathon in Libreville.
In an effort to elevate the event to global significance, the country’s authorities have extended a formal invitation to Bolt, urging him to contribute his presence and prestige to make the Gabon Marathon an unforgettable spectacle in the realm of world athletics.
Amidst the excitement generated by the prospect of Bolt’s visit to Gabon, the Gabon Marathon, dubbed the “festival of sport and effort,” will encompass five distinct events. These include a “Junior” race spanning 1 to 3 km, “La Gabonaise” featuring 5 km and 10 km races, a 21 km half marathon, and the pinnacle 42 km marathon.
