Spanish outfit Athletic Club are reportedly against selling Spanish youngster of Ghanaian descent, Nico Williams, to Barcelona this summer.
Information gathered from the Catalan newspaper Sport indicates that the Bilbao-based club is willing to offer flexible payment plans to Bayern Munich to facilitate the transfer of their attacker to the club.
It is understood that Athletic Club prefer to sell Nico Williams to the German Bundesliga champions rather than to FC Barcelona.
Athletic Club is reportedly willing to offer Bayern more flexible financial terms for the release clause.
With FC Barcelona, the club is standing firm and demanding that the La Liga champions pay the player’s entire release clause to facilitate his signing.
Meanwhile, Nico Williams still wants to join FC Barcelona. Although he considers Bayern Munich a good place, he believes the next step for him should be Barcelona.
The La Liga champions want to make the deal happen, but are not currently in a good financial position to proceed with negotiations.
