In the men’s category, reigning world cross country champion Imane Merga is set to defend his title. His main competitors include fellow Ethiopian Dejen Gebremeskei, a renowned specialist in the 5000m and 10,000m, as well as Kenyan athletes Vincent Chepkok and Emmanuel Bett. Eritrean Teklemarima Medhin is also expected to be a formidable contender.
