Atalanta send Yunus Musah back to AC Milan

Atalanta will not be exercising their option to buy Yunus Musah, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the club has no intention of turning his loan from AC Milan into a permanent deal.

The 23-year-old United States international is now expected to head back to the Rossoneri at the end of the season.

Musah joined Atalanta on loan last summer in a move designed to give him more regular minutes and help him rebuild his sharpness after limited game time at Milan the previous year.

He made his debut for the Bergamo side under head coach Ivan Juric on September 14, 2025, coming off the bench in the 75th minute of a 4-1 Serie A win over Lecce. Over the course of the campaign, he went on to make 27 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

Atalanta had a €25 million option to buy included in the deal, but they have opted not to activate it. Milan originally paid Valencia €20 million to bring Musah to Italy in the summer of 2023, and they will now decide the next step in his career.
