Bayern Munich have made an approach to sign Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman from Atalanta, submitting a loan offer with a sizeable fee and an option to buy at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old attacker has been a key figure for the Serie A side since his arrival, producing decisive performances last season that established him as one of Atalanta’s most reliable forwards.

His form has attracted attention across Europe, with Tottenham Hotspur and several Italian clubs also monitoring his situation.

Despite Bayern’s interest, Atalanta are taking a firm stance.

Club officials have made it clear that they will not sanction a deal based solely on a loan with an option to buy.

Instead, they insist any agreement must involve either a permanent transfer or a loan with a binding purchase obligation, underlining the value they place on Lookman’s role within Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad.

Bayern remain active in the transfer market as they look to strengthen their attacking options before the window closes.

The German champions see Lookman as a versatile addition who can operate across the frontline, bringing pace, creativity, and goals.

With injuries and squad depth an ongoing concern, Thomas Tuchel is eager to secure reinforcements, and Lookman’s profile has pushed him high on their shortlist.

Tottenham are also weighing up a move, with the Premier League club considering several targets to bolster their attack.

Lookman’s experience in English football, having previously played for Everton, Fulham, and Leicester City, makes him a familiar option for Spurs as they assess their strategy.

For Lookman himself, the opportunity to test himself at a higher level is an attractive prospect.

Reports suggest the forward is open to a move this summer as he evaluates his long-term future in Bergamo.

However, with Atalanta holding firm, the outcome will depend on whether interested clubs are prepared to commit significant funds to secure his signature.

Negotiations are expected to continue in the coming days, but Atalanta’s hardline position leaves Bayern and other suitors with a clear choice: meet the Italian club’s demands or look elsewhere for attacking reinforcements.

Lookman’s situation is set to be one of the more closely watched developments as the transfer deadline approaches, with his form and availability making him a sought-after name on the European market.
