Italian club Atalanta will reportedly reject the latest bid submitted by Inter Milan for Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman.
According to sources, Atalanta want €48 million for their star attacker before they will sanction his move this summer.
According to Italian outlet Il Giorno, Inter tabled a bid worth €42 million plus €3 million in bonuses in their latest attempt to land the talented winger. However, sources suggest Atalanta are expected to decline the proposal, believing it still falls short of their expectations.
While the response from La Dea is likely to be negative, negotiations remain active. The gap between the clubs is not insurmountable, and a deal could be struck if Inter slightly increase their fixed fee.
Atalanta are reportedly seeking at least €45 million guaranteed as part of any agreement.
There is growing optimism that rather than outright rejecting the offer, Atalanta may respond with a counter-proposal to bring both sides closer to a deal.
If progress continues, Lookman could complete a move to the Nerazzurri early next week.
