Atalanta makes history, Leverkusen astounding: Lookman
Ademola Lookman, the star of Atalanta in Italy, affirmed that his team has made history after qualifying for the final of the UEFA Europa League football tournament.
Atalanta continued their journey in the championship by defeating Marseille 3-0 at home on Thursday in the semi-final second leg of the competition.
The Italian team had previously drawn 1-1 away at the French side in the first leg match last week.
In statements to the UEFA website, Lookman said, “This was the most important game in Atalanta’s history, and we have indeed made history.”
The Nigerian star added, “We are in the final, we are going to Dublin, and I am truly happy.”
“I am very happy to have scored the first goal against Marseille; I always try to help the team as much as I can,” Lookman explained.
Atalanta has set up a showdown in the Europa League final against the German side Bayer Leverkusen.
“Leverkusen is truly an astounding team, but we have shown our strength this season considering the results we have achieved and the position we are in now,” Lookman remarked.
“We are now in the final of the Italian Cup as well as the Europa League final, and we are aiming to win both competitions,” he concluded.
As Atalanta revels in their historic achievement, Lookman’s words echo the team’s determination to claim victory on multiple fronts, setting the stage for an intense final showdown in Dublin.
