Atalanta youngster Charles De Ketelaar has equaled Egypt star Mohammed Salah’s assist record in Europe following inspiring his outfit to victory over Young Boys in the UEFA Champions League.
The Belgian international contributed five goals as his outfit cruised to an emphatic 6-1 win over their opponent on Tuesday night.
Charles De Ketelaar scored two goals and contributed three goals against Young Boys in the round 5 fixture, held in Switzerland.
He becomes the first player ever to succeed in contributing five or more goals in a single match with an Italian team in the Champions League.
His outstanding goal contribution against Young Boys takes him to 16 assists in all competitions in 2024, equaling Liverpool star Salah.
De Ketelaar and Salah are only behind Manchester City star Belgian Kevin De Bruyne, who has more assists (17) this year.
