Nigerian forward, Ademola Lookman received the Man of the Match award on Tuesday night after starring in Atalanta’s 3-2 defeat to Real Madrid in the Uefa Champions League.
Today’s match played at Gewiss Stadium provided a thrilling contest for fans from start to finish.
The visitors, Real Madrid took the lead after just 10 minutes when Kylian Mbappe equalised after Brahim Diaz set him up.
Atalanta after going behind mounted a spirited performance to get back into the game.
Fortunately, the team’s efforts paid off before halftime when Charles De Ketelaere found the back of the net to restore parity just before the break.
After recess, however, Real Madrid scored twice before the hour mark, with goals from Vinicius Jnr and Jude Bellingham taking the game beyond the reach of Atalanta.
Although Ademola Lookman scored in the 65th minute to reduce the defeat, it could not inspire his team to avoid a defeat at home.
Despite being on the losing team, the Atalanta poster boy did enough to earn the Man of the Match award.
