Aswan make winning start as Second Division B season produces thrilling results

The new Egyptian Second Division B season began on Wednesday, with Aswan claiming the headline result after beating Tahta 3-2 in an exciting opening-round match.

The victory gave Aswan their first three points of the campaign, while Luxor also began Group 1A with a win against El Nasr Lel Taadeen.

The complete Group 1A results were:

– Shoban Qena 2-1 El Madina El Monawara – El Aluminium 1-0 Keema Aswan – Shabab Sohag 1-1 Sinzo – Aswan 3-2 Tahta – Luxor 1-0 El Nasr Lel Taadeen

Sohag did not play in the opening round and were the group’s team at rest.

Group 3 produces a series of close contests

There were several competitive matches in Group 3, with Porto recording the biggest away victory after winning 3-0 at El Nasr Belarish.

Bila and Kafr El Sheikh played out a goalless draw, while Karyet Amer edged El Rabat Wal Anwar 2-1.

Bourfouad secured a narrow 1-0 win away to Menia El Nasr, and El Marsyakh drew 1-1 with Baltim. Nabrouh came from the group’s other close contest, beating Samannoud 2-1.

Aga won 2-0 at Shربين, while Dekernes also recorded a 2-0 victory away from home against El Zarqa.

The Group 3 results were:

– El Nasr Belarish 0-3 Porto – Bila 0-0 Kafr El Sheikh – Karyet Amer 2-1 El Rabat Wal Anwar – Menia El Nasr 0-1 Bourfouad – Baltim 1-1 El Marsyakh – Samannoud 1-2 Nabrouh – Sherbin 0-2 Aga – El Zarqa 0-2 Dekernes

Raya among winners in Group 4

Eight matches were played in Group 4. Raya had already secured a 2-0 victory over Delphi in the match played on Tuesday.

Shabab Kom Hamada beat El Jazira Matrouh 3-2, while Inter City won 2-1 at Sohab El Giyad.

El Hammam and Tala’ea El Ostoul shared the points after a 0-0 draw. El Magd produced the most emphatic result in the group, defeating Abu El Matamir 4-0.

Olympic and Badr drew 1-1, while New Sporting claimed a 1-0 win over Sporting. Alexandria Petroleum completed the round with a 3-2 victory against Damanhour.

Meanwhile, all of the first-round matches in Group 2 have been postponed until Sunday. The decision was taken because Orange have returned to participate in the competition.
