Benteke Reflects on FA Cup Final Loss: “A Big Disappointment”
Christian Benteke, despite his impressive form in recent weeks, was unable to make an impact in the FA Cup final as Aston Villa suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday. The Belgian striker of Congolese origin shared his frustration and disappointment after the match.
“It’s a big disappointment for us. For fifteen minutes, we started the match well, then they had control of the game and possession. We just ran after the ball. We didn’t have a single shot on target, that says it all…” Benteke admitted.
He added, “They were stronger than us in every area of the game. But after the difficult moments I’ve had this season, it was a victory to be able to play in this final.”
The match concluded a challenging season for Benteke, who had shown resilience in regaining top form late in the campaign.
