Aston Villa push €40m bid for PSG striker Ibrahim Mbaye
Aston Villa are moving quickly to sign PSG striker Ibrahim Mbaye, with advanced talks underway as the transfer market opens.
The English club is preparing an offer around €40 million for the Senegalese international, according to reports.
Mbaye has grown into a key rotation player at PSG in his second season with the first team, making 23 appearances across all competitions with 10 starts and contributing 3 goals and 2 assists. His performances earned him a senior call-up to Senegal, a strong Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco this winter with 1 goal and 2 assists, and a spot on Senegal’s World Cup squad heading to the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Despite a rough second half of the season under Luis Enrique, Mbaye’s rise with Senegal has attracted serious interest. Villa are confident they can close a deal near €40 million, even though his market value is often estimated at €30 million. Mbaye is open to leaving, but PSG, holding him under contract until June 2028, are under no pressure to sell.
If completed, Mbaye would join several recent Ligue 1 arrivals at Villa, including Lucas Digne, Boubacar Kamara, Amadou Onana, Youri Tielemans, Ross Barkley, and Marco Bizot.
