Aston Villa lead race to sign Senegal and PSG wonderkid Ibrahim Mbaye amid Premier League interest
Aston Villa are reportedly among a number of Premier League clubs closely monitoring highly-rated Senegalese teenager Ibrahim Mbaye, as speculation grows over his future at Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 18-year-old forward has emerged as a transfer target for the Birmingham-based side, who are keen to strengthen their attacking options with young, dynamic talent.
Villa had previously been linked with Mbaye during the January transfer window, but their interest did not materialize into a formal bid. However, with the summer window approaching, the club is expected to revisit the situation as they assess potential reinforcements.
Premier League rivals Chelsea have also been credited with interest in the Senegalese international, with reports from Sky Germany indicating that the London club are keeping tabs on his development in Paris.
Despite being under contract at PSG until 2028, Mbaye’s long-term future at the Parc des Princes remains uncertain. The young attacker faces stiff competition for places under head coach Luis Enrique, with limited opportunities restricting him mostly to appearances from the bench.
As a result, a move away from the French champions could appeal to Mbaye, who is eager for regular playing time to accelerate his development. The Premier League, with its competitive intensity and global exposure, may offer the ideal platform for the promising forward to showcase his potential.
With multiple English clubs circling and PSG boasting a star-studded attack, the coming months could prove decisive in shaping Mbaye’s career path as he weighs his options ahead of a potentially pivotal summer.
