**Jordan Ayew Earns Praise from Aston Villa Boss Despite Goal Drought**
Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has hailed Ghanaian striker Jordan Ayew for his strong performances, despite the forward yet to open his goal account since joining the club.
Following Villa’s narrow 1-0 League Cup victory over Birmingham, Sherwood praised Ayew’s impact on the pitch, highlighting his contributions beyond scoring. “I think he was excellent. He played very well,” Sherwood told Goal. “We’ve only played eight games this season and it was obvious he needed a period of adaptation. That’s the case with all new signings. Regardless, I’m very happy with what he’s bringing to us.”
Ayew, who signed a five-year contract with the English club, continues to be an important figure in Sherwood’s attacking setup as Villa seek to climb the Premier League table.
The Ghanaian international will be eager to translate his promising performances into goals in the coming fixtures, helping Villa build momentum in a competitive season.
