Emmanuel Adebayor is on the verge of completing his move to Aston Villa. The Togolese striker is expected to sign his contract with the Villans in the coming hours, with reports confirming that he underwent a medical on Tuesday and toured the club’s facilities in Birmingham.
According to Sky Sports, Adebayor will join the Premier League side on loan for the season, and will earn a weekly salary of over €141,000. The 31-year-old striker, who has had a long career in England, originally arrived in the Premier League in 2006 when he moved from Monaco to Arsenal. Since then, he has played for several top clubs, including Manchester City and Tottenham, scoring a total of 96 goals in his English football career.
This move follows a period of uncertainty surrounding Adebayor’s future, but it seems he is set for a fresh challenge with Aston Villa under manager Tim Sherwood.
