Max-Alain Gradel Set to Leave AS Saint-Etienne, Club Targets Grégoire Defrel as Replacement
Max-Alain Gradel’s time at AS Saint-Etienne appears to be coming to an end, with the Ivorian striker likely to leave the club. ASSE is already preparing for his departure and has reportedly reached out to Cesena to discuss a move for French striker Grégoire Defrel.
Defrel, who began his professional career at Parma, enjoyed a solid season in Serie A, scoring 9 goals. Although relatively unknown in France, he could see Ligue 1 as an opportunity to relaunch his career, especially after Palermo’s move for him fell through, despite reaching an agreement with Cesena for a €6.5 million transfer.
It remains to be seen whether Defrel will be open to the move, as he reportedly rejected the Palermo offer. However, if he agrees to join Saint-Étienne, he could prove to be a valuable addition to the squad.
