Assane Diao: Galatasaray linked with move for Comos Spain youth winger

Assane Diao, the Senegal-born Spanish winger currently at Como, is being linked with a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray as the Super Lig club explore wide attacking options ahead of the new season.

The 20-year-old left winger is under contract with the Serie A side until 30 June 2029, meaning any deal would require Galatasaray to negotiate with Como rather than target a short-term opportunity. Diaos market valuation stands at around 30m, underlining the scale of investment that would likely be needed to prise him away from Italy.

Diao joined Como from Real Betis in January 2025 for a fee of 12m and has since become one of the clubs most highly regarded assets. His progress has taken him onto the international stage, with the right-footed attacker making an appearance at the 2026 World Cup, where he featured briefly in one of his nations four matches.

At youth level, Diao has already experienced success on the international scene, winning the European Under-19 Championship with Spain in 2024. That tournament helped establish him as a player capable of operating at a higher level, drawing the attention of clubs beyond Spain and Italy.

Any potential move to Istanbul would represent the latest step in a rapid rise for a player who moved through the youth and B-team ranks at Betis before switching to Como. For now, however, Diao remains tied to the ambitious Serie A club on a long-term deal that gives Como a strong position in any talks over his future.
