Assan Ouedraogo out for weeks with shoulder injury

RB Leipzig will be without Assan Ouedraogo for several weeks after the midfielder suffered a shoulder capsule injury during the club’s training camp in Austria.

The Bundesliga side confirmed that the 20-year-old will not require surgery, offering some relief despite the latest setback.

Ouedraogo has endured repeated injury problems during his young career, and his shoulder has caused difficulties before. The new issue is therefore a frustrating interruption for the Germany international as he attempts to build consistency and establish himself more firmly at Leipzig.

The club described his expected absence as “a few weeks,” although no precise return date has been announced. His recovery will depend on how the shoulder responds to treatment and rehabilitation over the coming days.

Leipzig must now manage their midfield options without one of their most promising young players. Ouedraogo’s energy, athleticism and ability to carry the ball have made him an important part of the squad, particularly as the team prepares for a demanding Bundesliga campaign.

The midfielder will focus on recovering fully rather than rushing back. Leipzig will hope his latest injury remains relatively short-term and that he can return to training soon, giving him time to regain fitness before the season reaches its most intense stage.
