Moroccan forward Ashraf bin Sharqi delivered a last-gasp winner for Al Ahly, securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Haras El Hodood at Burj Al Arab Stadium in Alexandria.
The match, part of the Egyptian League’s 16th round, saw Bin Sharqi come off the bench at the start of the second half before netting the decisive goal in stoppage time (90+3).
His clinical finish earned him the Man of the Match award and ensured Al Ahly remained atop the league standings with 36 points, edging out Pyramids FC on goal difference. Pyramids will have the chance to respond when they face Al Ittihad Alexandria on Friday.
Meanwhile, Haras El Hodood, under the guidance of coach Mohamed Youssef, remain in sixth place with 22 points.
Al Ahly, led by Swiss tactician Marcel Koller, will shift focus to their next league fixture against El-Gaish on March 5th, aiming to maintain their momentum at the summit of Egyptian football.
