Al Ahly wrapped up preparations on Friday ahead of a highly anticipated clash with Zamalek at the Cairo International Stadium in the 15th round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Swiss coach Marcel Koller has named a strong squad, with Moroccan playmaker Ashraf Bin Sharqi making the cut after recovering from injury. His inclusion adds firepower to Al Ahly’s attack as they aim to extend their lead over their city rivals.
However, the squad is missing several key players, including Moroccan Yahya Attiat Allah, Yasser Ibrahim, Taher Mohamed Taher, Karim Fouad, and Mohamed Magdy “Afsha,” all ruled out due to injury. Omar Kamal, Ali Maaloul, and goalkeeper Mustafa Makhlouf were left out for technical reasons.
Al Ahly currently leads the league with 32 points, holding a five-point advantage over third-placed Zamalek. The squad for the derby includes: Muhammad Al-Shennawi, Mustafa Schubert, Hamza Alaa, Akram Tawfiq, Muhammad Hani, Mustafa Al-Ash, Ashraf Dari, Rami Rabia, Karim Al-Dibis, Amr Al-Sulaya, Ahmed Nabil Kouka, Ahmed Reda, Marwan Attia, Omar Al-Sa’i, Imam Ashour, Karim Nedved, Hussein Al-Shahat, Muhammad Abdullah, Ashraf Bin Sharqi, Wissam Abu Ali, and Jennik Jardis.
