Wadi Degla forward Aser Hany says he hopes to secure a move abroad after scoring the only goal in his side’s 1-0 victory over Zamalek in the second round of the Egypt Capital Cup group stage.
Hany struck in the closing stages to give Wadi Degla their second successive win in Group One and leave Zamalek without a point from their opening two matches.
“I hope to play abroad. The match against Zamalek was the first of my career, but, God willing, I will give everything I have to achieve that,” Hany told On Sport.
The 1-0 victory was Wadi Degla’s second consecutive success in the competition. They began their campaign with the same scoreline against Al Ittihad Al Sakandary.
Hany said Mustafa Shabita had expected him to perform well against Zamalek, and dedicated his goal to him, the coaching staff and his Wadi Degla team-mate Yehia Mostafa.
“Mustafa Shabita expected me to shine against Zamalek, and I dedicate my goal to him, the coaching staff and my team-mate Yehia Mostafa,” he added.
Zamalek had opened their campaign with a 3-0 defeat by ZED before losing again to Wadi Degla.
The result leaves Wadi Degla top of Group One with six points, while Zamalek remain bottom without a point.
Group One also includes Al Ittihad Al Sakandary, Tala’ea El Gaish and ZED.
