After a spirited match against Wydad AC in the CAF Champions League’s group stage, ASEC Mimosas is embarking on a special journey from Marrakech to Kumasi. The distinguished guests of the Ghanaian Republic’s presidency are gearing up for a historic encounter against Asante Kotoko in the prestigious 2024 Ghana President’s Cup.

Having secured a vital victory over Wydad AC with a 1-0 scoreline, ASEC Mimosas is now en route to Ghanaian soil.

The Ivorian club departed from Marrakech on a specially arranged Air Côte d’Ivoire flight, symbolizing the essence of sporting diplomacy and fostering camaraderie between nations.

The upcoming clash is slated to be a landmark event, coinciding with Ghana’s Independence Anniversary celebration on March 6.

ASEC Mimosas is poised to engage in the 2024 Ghana President’s Cup, a fixture traditionally organized in July to honor the sitting president of Ghana.

However, this year, the spectacle has been strategically scheduled just ahead of the Independence Anniversary celebration.

The much-anticipated encounter is set to unfold on March 5 at the iconic Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, with the kick-off scheduled for 4 p.m. local time, as per the official program.

The presence of both Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo and Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara adds an extra layer of prestige to this footballing spectacle.

As ASEC Mimosas prepares to face Asante Kotoko, the event promises to be a celebration of sport, unity, and the enduring bonds shared between nations on the African continent.
