Asante Kotoko brought an end to their winless streak in the Ghana Premier League by securing a crucial victory against league leaders Samartex, marking a significant turnaround in their recent form.

In a highly anticipated clash at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Asante Kotoko displayed resilience and determination as they clinched a hard-fought 1-0 win over Samartex.

The Porcupine Warriors broke the deadlock with a penalty, much to the delight of their passionate supporters, signaling their return to form after a challenging run of seven matches without a win in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Nations FC, occupying the second spot in the league standings, suffered a setback as they were convincingly defeated by Heart Of Lions.

Despite their efforts, Nations FC faltered on the road, succumbing to a 3-0 defeat against Heart Of Lions, denting their title aspirations.

In another closely contested encounter, third-placed Aduana suffered a narrow defeat against Bibiani Goldstars, losing 1-0 in a hard-fought battle.

However, Nsoatreman, currently fourth in the league standings, emerged victorious against Tamale United, securing a late comeback to clinch a thrilling 2-1 win on the road.

Elsewhere, Bofoakwa Tano and Bechem United settled for a 1-1 draw, highlighting the competitive nature of the Ghana Premier League.

The weekend’s action also saw Legon Cities secure a commanding 2-0 victory over Hearts Of Oak, while Karela United and Accra Lions played out a 1-1 draw in an evenly contested matchup.

With the race for the title heating up, each match becomes increasingly crucial for the teams vying for supremacy in the Ghana Premier League.

Asante Kotoko’s resurgence will undoubtedly boost their confidence, while other contenders will be eager to bounce back from setbacks and stake their claim for glory in one of Africa’s most prestigious football competitions.
