Ghanaian football legend, Asamoah Gyan, has applauded the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for its efforts in organising the African Schools Championship.
According to the former Black Stars captain, the championship is a vital platform for discovering the continent’s next generation of football stars.
Speaking to journalists after the official draw for the tournament, Asamoah Gyan, who serves as an ambassador for this year’s edition, stressed that he is committed to doing everything in his power to make the championship successful.
“It’s a great opportunity for this generation to benefit from it. The other national teams are going to benefit from it. For me personally, I support grassroots football. So, being an ambassador, we are going to do everything to make sure we produce the stars,” Gyan said.
