AS Saint-Étienne has initiated contact with Mohamed Farsi, the 24-year-old Algerian international right-back currently playing for Columbus Crew in Major League Soccer.
Despite extending his contract with the MLS club until 2027, Farsi could be poised for a move to France in the upcoming transfer window.
The right-back position has proven challenging for ASSE, with Yvan Maçon sidelined due to injury and Dennis Appiah not meeting expectations in the current season.
The club is looking to strengthen in this area, and Farsi has emerged as a key target.
According to Le Talk Show Stéphanois, Saint-Étienne has already reached out to Farsi’s representatives, and the player is reportedly open to a move to the French Ligue 1 side.
Farsi has made 34 appearances across all competitions for Columbus Crew in 2024, scoring four goals and providing three assists.
He is valued at €2 million by Transfermarkt and could bring valuable experience to Saint-Étienne’s defense.
With the winter transfer window fast approaching, the Greens are keen to finalize their plans, and Farsi’s potential arrival would provide a significant boost to their defensive options.
