Italian giants AS Roma have opened talks to secure the services of France international of DR Congo descent, Alex Disasi in the winter transfer window.
Disasi plans to depart Chelsea in the upcoming window amid recent struggles. The 27-year-old defender was initially axed from the Blues first team squad after failing to secure a move away from Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window.
The defender was left out of the club’s UEFA Champions League squad and he has yet to make a first-team appearance this season, having fallen out of favour at the Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea were keen to offload Disasi in the summer, but no club could meet their terms, following the defender’s loan spell at Aston Villa last season.
Disasi has since been training away from the first team and has featured with the club’s reserve side this season. As the January window approaches, the Premier League giants will look to offload the defender.
However, Roma, who are keen about capturing his signature of the defender has already opened talks to lure him to Italy.
Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini is a huge admirer of the defender and is said to be pushing for his signing.
The French-Congolese defender joined the London club in August 2023 from French Ligue 1 giants Monaco after top display at the club. Since joining Chelsea, the defender has racked up 61 appearances, scoring five goals and providing two assists.
