AS Nancy linked with former Troyes defender Thierno Balde
Thierno Balde, the French-Guinean right-back currently without a club, has been linked with a move to Ligue 2 side AS Nancy.
The 24-year-old became unattached after leaving Troyes on 3 August, according to his transfer record, and Nancy are now named as his potential destination. No agreement has been confirmed and there is no indication that a deal has been completed.
Balde spent four years with Troyes after joining from Paris St-Germain in August 2022 for a reported €3m. He made 44 Ligue 2 appearances for Troyes and also played 31 times in Ligue 1, registering two assists in France’s top flight.
Born in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, Balde came through PSG’s academy after joining the club from US Senart-Moissy as a youth player. He also spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Le Havre before returning to PSG.
The defender is listed at 1.82m and is right-footed. His current market value is recorded at €400,000, having previously reached €4m.
Nancy’s interest comes as Balde assesses his next club after his departure from Troyes. The proposed move would see him remain in Ligue 2, where he has accumulated the largest share of his senior league appearances.
