AS Monaco remains undecided over the permanent acquisition of Spain international of Guinea-Bissau descent, Ansu Fati.

The 22-year-old attacker is on a season-long loan at Monaco from Spanish giants FC Barcelona in an attempt to earn more playing time. Fati had to depart Barcelona after falling down the pecking in the previous season.

Since joining the Principality club, the enterprising attacker has racked up five goals in just three appearances in the Ligue 1. In all competitions, Fati has bagged six goals in five appearances for the French giants.

Despite his fine form, the Chief Executive Officer of Monaco, Thiago Scuro insists his outfit is currently undecided about the permanent signing of Fati, but refuses to rule out the possibility of capturing his signature on a permanent deal.

“This is not a topic for us right now. We just want to create all the conditions for Fati to continue getting game time and remain an important and consistent player for Monaco”

“The business side is not relevant at the moment, but when the time comes, we will make a decision. Monaco is protected in this situation by the agreement we have with the player and with Barcelona. Our goal now is for Fati to play effectively and consistently.” Scuro stated.

Ansu Fati’s current contract with Barcelona is expected to expire in the summer of 2028.
