Nazinho closing in on AS Monaco transfer from Cercle Brugge

AS Monaco FC are close to completing the signing of Bissau-Guinean defender Flávio Nazinho following his standout performances for Cercle Brugge this season.

The 22-year-old left-back is expected to take another major step in his career, with reports indicating that negotiations between the two clubs have accelerated significantly in recent days.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Nazinho is now approaching the final stages of the transfer process and is expected to undergo a medical examination before signing his contract next week.

Monaco are understood to have identified the defender as a key target as they continue shaping their squad ahead of the new campaign.

The proposed transfer fee is expected to be around €5 million, matching the player’s current market valuation according to Transfermarkt.

Nazinho remains under contract with Cercle Brugge until June 2028, but his performances throughout the season have attracted growing attention beyond Belgium.

The left-back has become one of the club’s most consistent performers and played a significant role during the campaign.

Across all competitions, he has made 32 appearances, contributing three goals and eight assists from defence. His attacking involvement and ability to contribute in transition have been among the qualities reportedly valued by Monaco’s recruitment team.

The move would represent a significant progression for the Guinea-Bissau international, who has steadily developed his reputation in Belgian football over recent seasons.

A transfer to Ligue 1 would also provide him with the opportunity to test himself at a higher competitive level and continue his development in one of Europe’s major leagues.

For Monaco, the deal reflects the club’s continued focus on recruiting emerging talent with long-term potential. The Principality club have regularly targeted young players capable of adapting quickly and growing within their sporting project.

While the transfer has not yet been officially completed, the discussions between both clubs are understood to be advanced, with the medical and final contractual details expected to be settled in the coming days.

If completed as anticipated, Nazinho would become one of Monaco’s first major additions of the summer transfer window.
