AS Monaco move to seal permanent deal for Ansu Fati
AS Monaco have taken a firm decision on the future of Ansu Fati, opting to trigger the purchase clause in his loan agreement from FC Barcelona.
The Spanish forward, who joined Monaco on loan for the season, has made 28 appearances across all competitions, finding the net 11 times despite struggling with recurring injury setbacks.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed on Wednesday that the Ligue 1 side have decided to activate the €11 million option to secure Fati on a permanent basis. He added that Barcelona will retain a percentage of any future sale as part of the agreement.
According to Romano, the deal is now in its final stages, with only the last contractual details to be settled between the club and the player before the transfer is officially completed.
Monaco’s decision signals strong confidence in Fati’s potential, as the club looks to build for the future despite the injury concerns that have affected his campaign.
