French side AS Monaco are in advanced talks to secure the signing of Spain forward of Guinea-Bissau descent Ansu Fati.
Fati, 22, decided to leave FC Barcelona in January after enduring a tough spell with the club where he struggled for playing time.
Although he continued to work hard in training, his situation did not change.
The talented forward only played six matches for FC Barcelona in the Spanish La Liga en route to winning the league title.
In the UEFA Champions League too, Ansu Fati only made four appearances for Barcelona as the club reached the semi-finals stage.
With the 2024/25 football season coming to an end, Ansu Fati is keen on leaving the Spanish club.
Fortunately, he has been spoiled for choice in the market with several clubs showing interest in his services.
Among the lot, Fati has decided to sign for AS Monaco.
Talks between the club and FC Barcelona has been smooth since Saturday. According to sources, Monaco have been given the greenlight to sign Fati on loan for the 2025/26 football season.
The loan deal will contain a purchase option that can be triggered at the end of the campaign.
