AS FAR set early Pretoria arrival ahead of CAF Champions League final first leg against Mamelodi Sundowns
Moroccan giants AS FAR Rabat have reportedly scheduled an early trip to Pretoria as preparations intensify for the first leg of their CAF Champions League final against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Although recent reports indicate that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has yet to officially confirm the final fixture schedule, many still expect the opening leg to be played on the evening of Friday, 15 May, in South Africa’s capital.
With anticipation building, FAR Rabat have already stepped up their planning and are said to have fixed Tuesday, 12 May, as their departure date for South Africa.
According to reports in Moroccan media, the decision to travel earlier than usual is intended to help the squad acclimatise to local conditions and give players enough time to settle before the crucial encounter.
The club is also believed to have arranged a private charter flight in a bid to avoid delays and reduce travel fatigue ahead of the high-stakes showdown.
Sundowns and FAR Rabat have faced each other twice previously in the CAF Champions League, with both group-stage meetings ending in 1-1 draws, setting the stage for what promises to be a tightly contested final.
