AS FAR players celebrate captain Rabie Hrimat after receiving debut Morocco call-up
Players of AS FAR have celebrated their captain, Mohamed Rabie Hrimat, after he received his first call-up to the senior national team.
The midfielder was invited by new head coach Mohamed Wahbi to join the squad for the upcoming international friendlies, marking a significant milestone in his career.
Hrimat’s teammates paid tribute to him during a training session in Egypt, where the squad formed a guard of honour in recognition of his achievement. The moment came as AS FAR continue their preparations for their CAF Champions League quarter-final second leg clash against Pyramids FC.
Speaking at a press conference to announce the national team squad, Wahbi explained his decision to include the AS FAR captain.
“The player Hrimat deserves to be in the first national team, given his outstanding performance, especially in his team, the Royal Army,” he said.
The coach added that Hrimat’s inclusion is also linked to his tactical plans, particularly his intention to deploy two defensive midfielders. He praised the player’s ability to perform under pressure and his composure on the ball.
Hrimat is expected to be part of the squad for friendly matches against Ecuador and Paraguay at the end of March, as Morocco continues its preparations for upcoming international competitions.
