CAF Champions League final

Moroccan side AS FAR has received a major setback ahead of Sunday’s CAF Champions League final first leg against South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns FC.

The Royal Army team will travel to South Africa hoping to secure a positive result in Pretoria, but the technical staff now faces important selection concerns before the decisive continental showdown.

Key Absences Trouble Technical Staff

The club will be without defender Zinedine Derrak, who is suspended following disciplinary sanctions imposed by Confederation of African Football.

Goalkeeper Ayoub Khayati is also expected to miss the encounter due to injury, dealing another blow to the squad ahead of one of the club’s biggest matches in recent years.

Meanwhile, uncertainty continues to surround the fitness of Senegalese defender Fallou Mendy after he suffered an injury earlier this month.

The coaching staff will continue to monitor the defender’s condition before making a final decision regarding his availability for the clash in Pretoria.

AS FAR Chasing Historic Continental Success

Despite the setbacks, AS FAR remains determined to return from South Africa with a favourable result ahead of the second leg.

The Moroccan club is aiming to capture the CAF Champions League title for only the second time in its history, having previously lifted the prestigious trophy in 1985.

The first leg encounter between AS FAR and Mamelodi Sundowns is scheduled to kick off on Sunday at 3:00 PM Moroccan time.
