AS FAR continued their build-up to the CAF Champions League final with another intense training session as they prepare to host South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

The Moroccan giants are aiming to overturn a first-leg deficit after Sundowns secured a narrow 1-0 victory in Pretoria, leaving the return leg finely balanced ahead of the decisive clash.

Santos Focused on Final Preparations

Head coach Alexander Santos supervised Wednesday’s training session as the team sharpened its tactical and physical preparations for what is expected to be the biggest game of their season.

The club is scheduled to hold another session on Thursday at the academy training centre, with media representatives expected to attend part of the workout from 4:15 p.m.

AS FAR are hoping home advantage and strong support from the stands will help inspire a comeback against the experienced South African side.

Packed Stadium Expected in Rabat

Sunday’s final is set to take place in front of a sold-out crowd, with more than 65,000 supporters expected at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.

The atmosphere in Rabat is anticipated to be electric as fans rally behind the Moroccan club in their quest for continental glory.

Players and technical staff have repeatedly stressed the importance of focus, discipline, and composure, fully aware of the quality and experience Sundowns possess on the African stage.

Historic Opportunity for Moroccan Giants

AS FAR are chasing what would be only the second CAF Champions League title in the club’s history. Their only triumph in the competition came in 1985, and victory this weekend would mark a historic return to the summit of African club football.

Coach Santos is expected to address the media during the traditional pre-match press conference on Saturday at 11 a.m., alongside team captain Mohamed Rabie Hrimat.

The squad will later complete its final training session at 6:00 p.m. as preparations enter the final stage before kickoff.

Morocco Eye Another Continental Milestone

A victory for AS FAR would also increase Morocco’s total number of CAF Champions League titles to eight.

The country’s success in the competition has largely been driven by Raja Casablanca and Wydad Casablanca, who have each won the trophy three times, while AS FAR’s 1985 triumph remains another important chapter in Moroccan football history.

Should AS FAR complete the comeback against Sundowns, the club would further strengthen Morocco’s dominance in African club football and cement its place among the nation’s elite continental champions.
