Genoa Target Olympiakos Left-Back Arthur Masuaku, Napoli Also Monitoring
Italian side Genoa are reportedly preparing a bid for Arthur Masuaku, the highly rated Olympiakos Piraeus left-back, according to Football365. The 21-year-old French defender of Congolese origin has impressed in Greece, playing a key role in Olympiakos’ title-winning campaign last season.
Genoa are said to be readying an offer of €7 million plus performance-related bonuses to tempt the Greek giants into a sale. However, Olympiakos officials value Masuaku at around €15 million, and with a contract running until June 30, 2019, they are under no pressure to sell.
Masuaku, a former Valenciennes player, has also drawn interest from Napoli, who could move for him if Faouzi Ghoulam departs the club this summer. With his blend of pace, technique, and defensive awareness, Masuaku is considered one of the top young full-backs in European football.
The coming weeks could be decisive in determining whether the French youth international makes the leap to Serie A, with Genoa leading the charge—but not alone in the race.
