Arthur Masuaku: Sunderland defender linked with Konyaspor move
DR Congo-French left-back Arthur Masuaku, currently at Sunderland, has been linked with a move to Turkish Super Lig club Konyaspor.
Masuaku, 32, joined Sunderland on 10 August 2025 and has a contract with the Premier League club until 30 June 2027. The reported interest from Konyaspor comes with the defender still tied to Sunderland, meaning any move would require an agreement between the clubs unless his contractual situation changes.
The left-footed defender was born in Lille and has represented both DR Congo and France through his listed nationalities. He has spent much of his career outside England, including spells with Olympiacos, Besiktas and RC Lens.
Masuaku won the French Cup with Lens in the 2025-26 season, adding to honours collected during his time in Greece and Turkey. His previous silverware includes two Greek league titles and a Greek Cup with Olympiacos, as well as the Turkish Cup and Turkish Super Cup with Besiktas.
Konyaspor compete in Turkey’s top division, while Sunderland are listed in the Premier League. The rumour was registered on 10 August 2026, with no transfer fee or probability attached to the proposed move.
Masuaku remains a Sunderland player, with his current contract due to expire at the end of June 2027.
