Arthur Atta: Fiorentina sign French-Beninese midfielder from Udinese in 25m deal
Fiorentina have signed French-Beninese midfielder Arthur Atta from Serie A rivals Udinese in a permanent 25m move. The 23-year-old central midfielder has agreed a contract at the Stadio Artemio Franchi running until 30 June 2031.
Atta arrives in Florence after establishing himself in Italy with Udinese, having first joined the Friulani from Metz in 2025 following an initial loan spell from the French club. His performances in Serie A have driven his market valuation up to 25m, a figure matched by Fiorentina to secure his services long term.
Born in Rennes and standing at 1.89m, Atta operates primarily as a central midfielder and is right-footed. He has already amassed significant top-flight experience, including 59 Serie A appearances in which he has contributed goals and assists from midfield, together with minutes in the Coppa Italia. Before moving to Italy, he featured in both Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 with Metz after progressing through their youth and reserve sides.
Attas senior pathway began in France with Rennes youth system before a switch to Metzs academy, where he advanced from under-17 level to the first team. He then used that platform to earn his move to Udinese and, after a season and a half in Italy, now steps into a new chapter with Fiorentina.
The deal sees Fiorentina invest heavily in their midfield options, with Atta joining the club on a long-term contract following his transfer from Udinese for 25m.
