Artem Ntumba Muamba: Russia-DR Congo forward leaves Metallurg Lipetsk and becomes free agent
Russia and DR Congo dual-national forward Artem Ntumba Muamba has left Metallurg Lipetsk and is now a free agent after his departure from the Russian club was finalised.
The 23-year-old centre-forward, who can represent both Russia and DR Congo at international level, has exited the side from Russia’s 2. Division B following the end of his spell with the club. His registration is now held without a club, making him available for interested teams to sign.
Muamba had been on the books at Metallurg Lipetsk as part of a squad competing in the Russian third tier, operating primarily through the middle as a central striker. His move away brings an end to his current chapter in Russian league football and opens the possibility of a next step either domestically or abroad once a new contract is agreed.
At 23, Muamba is at an age where regular senior football will be central to his next decision, with his free-agent status meaning any future move will not require a transfer fee. Clubs will be able to negotiate directly with the player and his representatives over personal terms.
The forward’s release from Metallurg Lipetsk has therefore put him on the market ahead of the new campaign, with his next destination to be confirmed once he secures a new deal.
