Arsène Wenger is reportedly on the verge of extending his contract with Arsenal, according to information from The Times on Saturday. Negotiations between the French manager and the club’s leadership are said to be nearing a successful conclusion. The reported new deal is expected to tie Wenger to the Gunners for the next three years. As per The Times, Wenger will receive a salary of 29 million euros over this three-year period, equivalent to almost 10 million euros per year.
Three months ago, Wenger had been reticent about addressing rumors regarding his contract extension, emphasizing the need to allow time before delving into the matter. However, in an interview with Metro at the beginning of October, he expressed a commitment to Arsenal, stating that he did not see himself leaving the club and even envisioned concluding his coaching career with the North London side. Wenger has been at the helm of Arsenal since 1996.
