Abou Diaby Leaves Arsenal After Injury-Hit Spell
After a career plagued by injuries, Abou Diaby has officially left Arsenal. The Franco-Ivorian midfielder, who barely featured last season, turned down a pay-as-you-play offer from the London club and is now a free agent.
Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger expressed his deep regret at Diaby’s departure, sharing his thoughts on the club’s official website:
“It’s one of the saddest moments for us at Arsenal that we didn’t get the chance to get the best out of Abou Diaby due to injury. I’m very sad because this boy has immense talent. I’m also sad because he didn’t deserve what he got.”
